Baja Bug: TSSFab’s Bajabaru

Whenever you go to Subie events as of late it seems like there’s a growing number of off-road Subarus.  It might just be the narrow window of Subarus you used to be able find through the traditional channels of Nasioc’s “Members Car Gallery” or at the local meet up spots but back then truly off-road Subarus (think lift beyond Forester struts and gravel++ tires) were few and far between.  Now such rigs have their own section at massive meets like Wicked Big Meet and BoxerFest and can be readily found topping trending lists while flipping through the massive world of Subarus that is Instagram these days.

Without any doubt people have pushed the limit of what you can do with Subarus – a time-tested reliable and incredibly versatile platform to do pretty much a lot of things.  But there’s pushing the limits and destroying them, and that’s where this incredible Bugeye Build has taken it …

The TSS-Fab “Baja” bugeye wagon , or “Bajabaru”.  It’s so one-off it’s almost an afterthought that they kept the Bugeye front end and made it probably most amazing off-road Subaru no less Bugeye out there (nb: thank you for making it a Bugeye).

Getting ready for the weekend

Themed after the incredible endurance race trucks of the Baja 500 this extreme suspension equipped rig is pretty crazy to look at and downright insane to watch in action.

#bajabaru just more testing trying to get this car in to a reliable weekend rig.
